The Jefferson High School competition cheer team earned a national championship title in the Large Game Day division at the 2018 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando.
Jefferson competed against 28 other teams in the Large Game Day division. After placing first in a preliminary round, the team advanced directly to the final round, where they bested seven teams for the national championship.
The Jaguars qualified for the national tournament following a first place finish at the UCA Ten-Thousand Lakes Regional Competition in October. This is the third national championship for the team (2018, 2017 and 2013), in addition to five state titles.
Jefferson cheer coaches are Zoie Palmer and Taylor Mancini.
