Hello families! Welcome to a new school year! I'm so happy to be your child's 4th grade teacher!  This will certainly be a different learning experience this year; we will learn TOGETHER!!

Just a little about me:

I grew up in Maple Grove and graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Major in Elementary Education and a Minor in Reading Instruction. I also have my Master's Degree in Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

My family includes my husband, John, and my two sons Garrin and Reese. My husband is also a teacher. He teaches fourth grade in Orono. Yep! Two fourth grade teachers in the family! My oldest son, Garrin, is off to college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison! He will be studying business. My youngest son, Reese, is a junior at Jefferson High School. He bowls & plays basketball. They are the loves of my life! We have 2 cute kitties at home. Their names are Chloe and Major Tom!

Outside of school, I love to spend time with family and friends! I also enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, decorating/organizing, and traveling. I have traveled to 49 out of the 50 United States! (I have not been to Alaska.) Each summer, we go to Madeline Island to spend some quality time with family. There, we love to swim, hike and kayak.

It's back to school time! I welcome your child wholeheartedly into my classroom! Have a great year at Washburn!
